Just for Fun: Creative Expression for the iPhone.
As interactive designers, we spend most of our days creating visually stimulating interfaces specifically focused on solving communication challenges for our clients.
But every now and again, we like to stretch our legs and express ourselves merely to satisfy ourselves. This week, we gave our designers a simple challenge:
Create a typographical wallpaper for the iPhone.
That was it. The challenge had no clear message (therefore it was an artistic challenge) but it must also fall within the prescribed requirements: wallpaper, iPhone, typography (that made it a design challenge). In addition to wanting the team to express themselves outside the realm of our client work, the challenge had two specific goals: increase designer focus on design for the iPhone (which uses a different dpi than web), and to explore type in an artistic way. In the end, all I can say is “BOOM WENT THE DYNAMITE”. Here are the wallpapers created by the AgencyNet design team, enjoy.
PS. Many thanks and appreciation goes to the amazing designers at AgencyNet for taking part in this challenge on their own time. They continue to impress, amaze and make me envious of their abilities every day. I less than three them all.

I hate being a typo Nazi, but it’s spelled, “safety.” Nice wallpapers though.
