Wallpaper: Retro Flowers

Clean lines and a “shabby-chic” vintage feel inspired me to create this month’s wallpaper.

The line drawing leaves and flowers, felt to me, retro enough that you might find a pattern similar to this in your Grandma’s linen closet.  On the flip side of that, the color palette that I used (cool blues and charcoals) makes it modern enough not to reek of mothballs.

I started sketching several different leaf patterns in Illustrator and when I was happy with one I created a flower pattern to complement the leaf. Adding chunks of solid color to the design helped me to create the feeling of a water painting underneath a pencil-line drawing.

    That is very impressive work and I have decided that the wallpaper with the retro flowers! It truly brings back fond memories and I am sure a lot of people agree with me on this!! It really looks simple but very attractive and will give it a very dignified look when put up!! I am sure they will be a lot of takers for this one and hope you bring out more like these!! Will recommend it to friends too!!
