SoDA agencies, AgencyNet and Odopod collaborated on a keynote presentation at the Adobe Education Designer and Developer Conference on Monday, March 3rd in San Francisco, California. The conference brought together the most influential minds in the education community to talk about the changing roles of designers and developers and the emerging technologies that will shape the way we work.
AgencyNet’s VP of Account Services, Betsy DiCarlo and Lead Developer of Emerging Technology, David Brown paired up with Odopod’s CEO Jay Wolff and Developer, Mike Creighton to share their experience in the evolving industry and the growing demand for talent. The team walked the audience through the Digital Evolution highlighting key projects, illustrating how important it is to keep up in the ever-changing industry. On that point, AgencyNet and Odopod emphasize the importance of bringing content to the user beyond the .com. AgencyNet shared its latest out of the browser experiences Bacardi Mobile and the MOJO desktop widget. Both projects perfectly exemplify the necessity of bringing content to users wherever they are spending their time.
The discussion continued with the agencies showing projected advertising budget reallocation figures and how this will put further strain on the talent pool. They also explained the importance of designers and developers extending their knowledge and awareness beyond their specific area of discipline in order to contribute to the entire project life cycle. Additionally, talent will increasingly need to know and understand the business of marketing and advertising and the strategies behind solutions, and not just how to produce them.
