Our site, ‘’ was a Gold winner and the aforementioned ‘Best in Show’ at this week’s awards in Austin, TX. It was the 10th annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Web Awards and it was an incredible experience all around. Dan Rather was the Keynote speaker and Ze Frank did an awesome job of MC’ing the awards show. You can catch our CEO, Richard Lent’s interview with Amanda Congdon on ABC News, as well as a one-on-one studio session with the CEO of Social Saga. Links to the videos will be posted once available.

The project was an absolute pleasure to work on… we really were able to push the boundaries of the digital medium and create something truly unique and innovative. We combined a number of creative disciplines starting with raw sketch development, and then proceeded into the physical ’set’ design (on top of our in-house pool table no less) for C-Ville utilizing raw materials and found objects such as papier mache, popsicle sticks, tree branches, chicken wire, newspaper, yarn, rocks, foam, and cloth. We coupled these very real elements, with cutting edge technologies such as green-screen video, stop-motion animation, streaming video, custom audio, Adobe Flash and After Effects animation, and user customization to create an immersive, engaging and viral destination. Hopefully we were able to assist some teens in kicking their tobacco habits in the process. Isn’t altruism beautiful?
