.net magazine is the UK’s leading magazine for web designers and developers. They challenged AgencyNet Art Director, Bryant Florez, along with two other leading designers, to create a site for a new beer, emphasizing that creating a promotional microsite is something every web agency should ace.
This was a task that our Art Director was no stranger to. Within a quick turn around, Bryant came up with a solution to market a very-believable brand. Brothers Barley is a (fictional) beer with a history full of tradition and character, brewing the finest stout since 1929. This website is an opportunity for the Brothers Barley to share their story with beer lovers across the globe and increase awareness through an engaging and informative experience. Bryant designed a microsite that invites visitors to share in the long-standing tradition surrounding the brand by providing a ”Virtual Tour” of the Brewery and fun interactive tools like the ”Family Photo Album”.
To check out the comps of Brothers Barley, you’ll have to pick up the January ‘08 – issue 171 – at your local bookstore. In the U.S. .net is published as Practical Web Design.
As an aside: QuitDoingIt.com was featured in the same issue as one of January’s hottest new websites. The magazine gives us props for creating an informative, impact Flash website. They also said we hit the nail on the head with our target audience. ”The site has a very specific audience, so there’s no brand messaging that has to be pushed.” Thank you to .net for the compliments!
